This upgrade intercooler for VAG 1.4 TSI + 1.8TSI incl. Polo WRC is a highlight from the HF-Series range.
The high-quality HFT net has the best cooling properties to deliver the best performance even in poor conditions and is also very robust.
It is characterised by high resistance and does not heat itself up as much as comparable nets from other manufacturers.
At the same time, the entire system is also designed for best flow.
This means that the pressure loss is minimal and the entire charge air path has been developed with CAD flow analyses in mind. This also includes the radiator boxes, which are made of high-strength cast aluminium.
The advantages of this product are:
- significantly cooler charge air, which improves engine combustion
- earlier response
- improved flow
Therefore, this product is interesting for both series performance and racing, because considerably higher performance is possible.
Each individual cooler was built on the respective vehicle, calculated in flow simulations and tested on the in-house performance test bench.
This intercooler is fitted to the original retaining points of the original OEM intercooler and therefore requires no major adaptation work. Installation can be carried out by customers themselves with a well-stocked toolbox.

What exactly does an upgrade intercooler give you?
In order to express the exact additional performance of an intercooler in figures, many unknown factors must be taken into account, such as: performance variation from the factory, further hardware changes, as well as the software used in the determination.
This varies from vehicle to vehicle. As a rule of thumb, one can assume up to 5% - 10% for performance-enhanced engines.
What is at least as important, however, is that regardless of whether your engine has already been optimised or whether it is to remain standard on the software side, you prevent a loss of power, especially at high outside air temperatures, or even the reaching of the temperature protection, which is stored in many control units, and can thus always count on the full power of your engine.
Recommendation
Use our HF-Series intercoolers as a combination of hardware & software optimisation.
By reducing the backpressure (relieving the turbocharger) and cooling the charge air (increasing the oxygen content in the combustion chamber + thermal relief), the result is performance tuning that efficiently exploits the potential of any turbocharged engine.
When considering hardware or software tuning of your vehicle, you must not ignore the factor of "boost pressure loss".
If you increase the performance of your vehicle by means of chip tuning, in 99% of cases the boost pressure will also be increased. By using the standard intercooler, the loss of boost pressure increases exponentially. This means that the turbocharger has to work even harder, which increases the thermal load on the turbocharger and reduces the service life or wears out more quickly due to high engine speeds.
With our HF-Series intercoolers, we create the perfect balance between cooling effect and boost pressure loss.
This intercooler kit is a joint project with the company SLS-Tuning.
HF-Series
HF-Series is the first point of contact when it comes to fresh air supply in vehicles. With this brand, HG-Motorsport has combined professional research and production of high quality intake systems, intercoolers and air guidance systems. In addition to 3D scanning of the vehicle periphery for perfect fitting accuracy, this also includes long series of tests to combine the optimum components for each individual model. The result is racing products.
