Many vehicle manufacturers use an electrically controlled original valve, which is all too often already defective or leaking ex works.

This causes a loss of power, which is even more significant in vehicles with increased performance due to the higher boost pressure.

Here GFB extends the DV+ series with a Plug 'n Play solution: The robust, anodised and CNC-milled aluminium housing of the GFB DV+ diverter valve closes this "hole" in the charge air system and the vehicle has noticeably more power and torque. The mode of operation has been proven by GFB in several performance measurements on the test bench!

As the GFB DV+ only replaces the original valve and the original control unit (the solenoid valve unit) is reused, it integrates perfectly.

GFB's DV+ on the other hand responds much better, is cheaper, easier to install and does not cause "surging" or fluttering. Furthermore, it does not require other springs to be adjusted to the respective boost pressure, nor does it require regular maintenance. It also withstands any boost pressure.

The secret here is that the piston seals by the applied boost pressure itself and not by the spring. Through small openings in the guide housing of the piston, the pressure flows backwards into the valve unit and pushes the piston downwards by the own force of the boost pressure, which presses the piston with the rubberised underside against the stop, thus sealing the system under load. By means of the so-called "Pliot" (in the illustration below called "solenoid plunger") the "pressure chamber" of the piston is now sealed airtight, so that pressure is now applied to a larger area inside the piston chamber than from below on the rubberised underside. As soon as there is a load change (e.g. during gear shifting), the control unit lifts the plunger and the pressure can escape from the piston chamber, which causes the piston to lift and divert the excess pressure from the charge air system.

Advantages:
- 100% tight even at high charge pressures (error-free up to 2.5 bar)
- noticeably more power and torque
- made of aluminium (body) or brass (piston): more reliability and durability for higher performance vehicles
- Faster boost pressure build-up compared to an original blow off valve
- Plug & Play: Easy installation within 10-15 minutes, as the original control unit is retained

If an original valve from the manufacturer Continental is installed (on these the piston cannot be removed, inscription: JT4E-9U465-AA), then a valve from the manufacturer Pierburg must also be purchased, as only here can the DV+ be fitted. The Pierburg part number for this valve is: 7.04615.03.0

Notice for use on Mercedes Bi-Turbo models:
Two valves are required for one vehicle.

 

Note for use on Ford Mustang 2.3l Ecoboost models:
