By reducing the moment of inertia of the rotating mass, the engine can develop its dynamics much more agilely and quickly and produce a more aggressive response.
This results in faster production of the required exhaust gas flow that feeds the turbine wheel of the turbocharger and as a result enables faster boost pressure build-up.
It is a common misconception that the crankshaft needs a certain mass to run smoothly and not damage the bearings.
This is of course true, but the parts used in the OEM sector are mass-produced items that are never finely balanced and are used on many different engines. As a result, they generate a higher unbalance than our CNC-manufactured parts.
