Automatic transmissions ensure that the engine always operates in the best efficiency range. As the complexity of modern automatic transmissions increases, so do the performance requirements. Especially for retrofitted, optimized and performance-enhanced vehicles. This is noticeable in the extreme thermal and mechanical stress on the transmission fluid, which results in increased wear and maintenance requirements.
If the transmission fluid is not changed in good time, the dirt and metallic abraded matter could cause costly mechanical damage in the gearbox. That’s why manufacturers of transmission fluids – and increasingly vehicle manufacturers as well – recommend transmission fluid changes, depending on mileage and driving style. The same applies for so-called “lifetime fluids”.
In the past, it was not possible to completely change the transmission fluid, which meant that when the transmission fluid was changed, the fresh oil was contaminated with the remaining used oil - a problem that was solved thanks to Gear Tronic from Liqui Moly. This is because the automatic transmission oil service unit enables almost 100% fluid exchange without mixing fresh and used oil. Only then can the new oil develop its full performance. Of course, the change is carried out by us exclusively with the top products of Liqui-Moly and not with cheap and inferior no-name lubricants. This also applies to the exchange of the transmission oil filter, which is always renewed.
